Our Commitment
IOU Inc., the developer and publisher of the myIOU app (available on Google Play and Apple App Store), is committed to maintaining a safe environment for all users, including minors. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form on our platform.
Prohibition of CSAE Content
myIOU strictly prohibits any content, behavior, or activity that involves, facilitates, or promotes child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including but not limited to:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — including images, videos, text, or any digital content depicting the sexual exploitation of minors
- Grooming or solicitation of minors for sexual purposes
- Sextortion or any form of coercion targeting minors
- Sharing, distributing, or requesting CSAM or any exploitative content involving minors
- Any content that sexualizes or endangers children in any way
Users found engaging in any of the above activities will be immediately and permanently banned from the platform. We will report all confirmed instances to the appropriate authorities.
Reporting & Enforcement
myIOU provides the following mechanisms for users to report concerns related to child safety:
- In-app reporting: Users can report any content or user profile directly within the myIOU app using the report/flag feature available on all user-generated content and profiles.
- Email: Users and external parties can report child safety concerns by emailing our dedicated child safety contact (see below).
All reports related to child safety are treated with the highest priority. Our team reviews flagged content promptly and takes appropriate action, including content removal, account suspension, and reporting to law enforcement authorities.
Handling of CSAM
In the event that child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is identified on our platform — whether through user reports, automated detection, or internal review — IOU Inc. will:
- Immediately remove the content from the platform
- Permanently ban the offending account
- Preserve relevant evidence in accordance with applicable law
- Report confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or the relevant regional authority as required by law
- Cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations
Compliance with Applicable Laws
IOU Inc. complies with all applicable child safety laws and regulations, including but not limited to:
- The PROTECT Act (United States)
- COPPA — Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (United States)
- Canada's Criminal Code provisions relating to child exploitation
- Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy
- Applicable laws in all jurisdictions where myIOU is available
